The Original Cubetown Experience

Melbourne (Glen Waverley)

A Dream To Get People Moving

Melbourne was our very first attempt at bringing a full active gaming experience to Australia.

When we opened our doors in early 2025, we had a simple idea: create a place where people could move, think and play together with games that didn’t feel like exercise. We chose Glen Waverley because of its incredible energy – surrounded by restaurants, bars and dessert spots, we imagined Cubetown becoming the perfect after-dinner activity for adults looking for something a little different.

What we didn’t expect was how quickly families, uni students, birthday groups and competitive friend groups would embrace it too. Since then, Melbourne has shown us what Cubetown could become, with many of the lessons that have shaped our newer venues learnt right here.

The Cubetown Experience Today

Whether you’re looking for a family activity, a unique date night, a birthday celebration or a fun challenge with friends, Cubetown Melbourne offers active challenge rooms designed to get people moving, laughing and working together.

And yes, while Melbourne may feel a little more “home-grown” than our newer locations, we’re incredibly proud that it’s where the Cubetown story began and continues to grow – choose your own pace, play cooperatively or competitively, and experience the venue that started it all.

Finding Us

We’ll be honest: finding Cubetown Melbourne for the first time can feel like its own challenge room. The main entrance is accessible via the lift facing Kingsway. Because we share the building with some fantastic local restaurants and bars, the lift can get quite busy during peak dining hours.

If you’d like to skip the queue, there’s stair access from the rear of the building via the car park, accessible from Glendale Street and Montclair Avenue. Think of it as a warm-up before your session – mention to our team that you took the stairs and we’ll shout you a free drink for getting the movement started early.

Parking Tips

Like many locals know, parking around Glen Waverley is hectic – especially around lunch and dinner times.

We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes early to give yourself time to park. That way, you’ll spend more time playing and less time stressing about finding a spot.

Accessibility AND Sensory Information

Everybody experiences play differently, and that’s okay.

Cubetown Melbourne combines movement, lights, sounds and interactive technology to create an immersive experience. While some games are fast-paced and energetic, others focus more on memory, coordination and problem-solving – we even have slower-paced sensory light experiences designed simply to be enjoyed.

Please wear suitable shoes and comfortable clothes. In your session, you’ll be able to enjoy playing at your own pace, take breaks when needed and choose the games that best suit your team’s preferred pace.

If you have accessibility requirements, sensory considerations, or would simply like to know more before your visit, we’d love to help. Get in touch with our team before your session and we’ll do our best to answer any questions.

How many people may play together?

We accept bookings of up to 8 players per session. Larger groups can book consecutive sessions (which may involve a short wait to get started) or explore our party and group packages.

Because our challenge rooms vary in size, groups may occasionally be split between different games or rooms to keep the action going – many groups actually enjoy this, as it creates opportunities for friendly competition, different team combinations and plenty of stories to compare afterwards. You’ll still be part of the same session and can regroup throughout your visit as you move between challenges.

Yes. During your session, you’ll have time to explore all of our arenas and play several games in each one.

To make the experience flow smoothly, larger groups may occasionally be split between rooms while exploring different challenges. This helps everyone spend more time playing and less time waiting, while still giving your group the chance to experience everything Cubetown Melbourne has to offer.

Absolutely. Cubetown Melbourne was originally designed as an after-dinner activity for date nights and other people exploring Glen Waverley’s restaurant and nightlife scene. Today, we welcome everyone from couples and friend groups to families, university students and corporate teams.

Yes. Cubetown is recommended for ages 6 and over (although kids under 6 are welcome to join for free with assistance). Many of our most competitive players are families who love working together or challenging each other across our different games.

Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by a supervising paying adult at all times, while children aged 9-14 must have an accompanying adult at the venue.

Not at all. One of the things we love most about Cubetown is that people can play at their own pace. Some groups like to leave it all out there, while others focus on teamwork, problem-solving or simply having fun together.

Comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes are recommended. You’ll be moving, reacting and exploring throughout your session.
